Back in 2023 I shot this target with my 80mm (3 inch) telescope and was pleased with it and decided to shoot it again but this time with my new 150mm (6 inch) telescope. This is of course the Tulip Nebula. This can be easy to ignore in the busy constellation of Cygnus the Swan since there are several emission nebula targets that populate this region including the last one, called Pickering’s Triangle.
I spent approximately 12 hrs. on this target over three nights. The first night was 6/22/2024 the last two were 8/23 and 8/24/2024. I am really pleased with this and for now satisfied. Well, for now so I am calling this, this year’s version of The Tulip Nebula.
