Venus Transit of 2012

Approximately every 130 years, our sister planet Venus gives us a pair of transits across the face of the Sun. I was fortunate enough to witness the last crossing of the 21st century.

Can you Venus? It is the dark spot near the 2 o'clock position. Zoom in and you can also see several sunspot clusters.

The next Venus Transit is December 2117, in 94 years.

Optics: Takahashi 150mm f/7 (FCT-150)
Camera: Canon EOS 60Da

About me

I'm a software developer and beginner Astrographer based in the UK. I built the core features of Astrographer for myself as I was learning the hobby and thought they might be useful to others!
