NGC 2359 Thor's Helmet

Thor's Helmet Nebula! Officially known as NGC 2359, this striking nebula, located in the constellation Canis Major, stretches its delicate wings about 15,000 light-years away from Earth. The nebula, resembling the Norse god Thor's winged helmet, is powered by a hot, massive Wolf-Rayet star at its center, which is emitting fierce winds shaping the surrounding gas and dust into this splendid display. With its vibrant blues and nebulous wisps, Thor’s Helmet is a reminder that even in the vastness of space, a little whimsy and imagination can bring mythological wonders to life.
